Scar Tissue

Fibrous tissue that forms when normal tissue is destroyed, injury, or surgery.

For example, scar tissue forms when a wound heals after a cut, sore, burn, or other skin condition, or when an incision (cut) is made into the skin during surgery. Thus scarring is a natural part of the healing process.

It may also form inside the body when certain conditions, such as cirrhosis, cause normal tissue to turn into fibrous tissue.

Does your scar restrict movement or causes an uncomfortable pulling or other uncomfortable sensations?

Scar Massage Therapy is not regular massage. A variety of techniques will be used, sometimes very targeted, or very precise with the aim to loosen adhesions that may reduce the appearance of the scar, Scar massage therapy can start when the wound is fully healed, approximately 6-8 weeks after surgery.
